This safari is combining luxury and excitement and perfect wildlife. Prices start from 4087 USD or 15000 aed per person based on two persons sharing in low season. Included are local flights, transfers, accommodation, all meals, house beverages, safari outings, park fees. Excluding are international flights.

 

Day 1 Loisaba

This morning you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for the Safari Link flight departing at 1020hrs to Laikipia. On arrival you will then be met by a driver/guide who will take you to Loisaba, a dream luxury getaway retreat located in the heart of Laikipia. You will spend the next 3 nights of your safari here. Loisaba is on the edge of the Laikipia plateau in northern Kenya. It is a 61,000 acre private ranch and wildlife conservancy on which cattle and wildlife co-exist. Due to the varied nature of the environment (hills, plains, groves of acacia, fig and palm, and rivers), there is a good variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffe, antelope, buffalo, Grevy’s zebra, kudu, dik-dik and even wild dogs and some big cats. It is also possible to see rhinos on a nearby ranch as a day trip.

Accommodation: Loisaba star beds concept is a Loisaba innovation where guests

can sleep out under the stars in rustic comfort. There are two star bed camps on the Loisaba ranch and both are community run. The ‘Kiojo’ star beds are located on the banks of the Ewaso N’giro River and its rooms are sited above the flowing river below. The camp is reached by a footbridge from the opposite bank. Each bed has been dramatically designed and consists of a handcrafted wooden raised platform, partially covered with a thatched roof. Homemade ‘Mukokoteni’ (uniquely designed bed on wheels’), can either be wheeled onto the open deck area for a night under the stars, or left under the shelter of the roof. There is also a 'family starbed'. All the beds are a ‘four-poster’ design with insect netting. Each star bed has a simple ensuite shower, washbasin and flushing loo.

 

Days 2- Loisaba

The next days are to fully discover the Loisaba. The Loisaba bestrides the border of Laikipia and Kenya's rugged Northern Frontier District. Only a few miles from the equator, this private game ranch is in country of transcendent beauty where the farm management and the local Laikipiak Maasai and Samburu community work together to preserve the environment and the wildlife that abounds here. Through Loisaba roam elephant, lion and leopard alongside the rare northern species that thrive here - gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe. Luxurious yet in harmony with its surroundings, full of adventure yet an oasis of calm, Loisaba is a tranquil and life-enhancing haven for wildlife and visitors alike.

 

Day 3 Masai Mara

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara.

On arrival you will be met and driven to the most romantic place in the Mara: Cottars1920; your base for the next 3 nights. As you drive through the Mara’s magical savannah plains you never know what you might spot on the way – plains game abound and the cats are never far away. The Mara offers amazing game viewing throughout the year and features the annual wildebeest migration in July – September. After a late lunch you can relax in this peaceful spot before head out for an afternoon/evening game drive.

Accommodation: Cottars 1920 accommodates up to 16 guests in authentic, spacious white canvas tents

. The camp has 6 1920s style en suite white tents, and 4 family tents - each with 2 en suite bedrooms and a shared sitting room, a canopied verandah and carefully arranged to ensure privacy. Each tent is luxuriously furnished with safari antiques from the 1920’s, private ensuite dressing rooms/bathrooms, showers and flush toilets. The camp is equipped with a tented library/reading room and the cuisine and silver service is of the highest standard to be found in the bush. Each tent has its own private butler.

 

Days 4- 5 Masai Mara

The next couple of days are yours to explore the wonders of the Masai Mara. You have the

flexibility to choose what you want to do and see, with the possibility of day and evening game drives in the Mara reserve as well as in the surrounding Masai lands. You can also enjoy bush breakfasts and sundowners and during your stay you will also have an opportunity to mix with the local Masai community – a great experience. If you aren’t out all day you can also relax in the spa or enjoy the great interiors of the living room tent, which is furnished with comfortable beautiful antique sofas, library and fully stocked bar. In the evening sit back and reflect on your days adventures by the camp fire and listen to the sounds of the wild.

 

Day 6 Departure

Today you will catch a flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi in time to catch your flight back home or to have a fabulous beach extension in either Zanzibar or Lamu
